The Requirement
As a busy automotive workshop and MOT service centre, the facility required a durable, seamless, and easy-to-maintain flooring system
capable of withstanding:
- Heavy vehicle traffic
- Oil and chemical spills
- Frequent cleaning and maintenance
- Clearly defined working zones for safety and efficiency
BYD also requested clear epoxy line marking around MOT service bays to improve workflow and maintain compliance with operational standards.
Scope of Works
1. Floor Preparation
Proper preparation is critical to the longevity of any resin floor. Our team carried out thorough mechanical preparation using industrial diamond grinding equipment to remove surface contaminants and ensure a clean, profiled substrate ready for bonding.
2. Floor Repairs
Damaged sections of concrete are repaired using specialist epoxy fillers before the new
heavy-duty epoxy resin coating system was installed throughout the workshop. Any imperfections in the existing concrete were addressed to ensure a smooth, level surface prior to coating application and eliminated potential weak points.
3. Epoxy Resin Installation
A heavy-duty epoxy resin system was installed across the workshop floor, providing a seamless, hard-wearing finish. The system was selected for its excellent resistance to abrasion, chemicals, and impact—ideal for an automotive environment.
4. Line Marking
To improve organisation and workshop safety, Liberty Floor Solutions also installed epoxy resin line marking around the MOT and service bays, creating clear, durable boundaries for vehicle positioning and technician workflow.
