Warehouse expansion gaps at a location in Bedfordshire

About this project

Re-grinding and repairing warehouse expansion gaps

About this project

We were called to a warehouse in Bedfordshire to re-grind and refill the existing expansion gaps in the concrete floor. The damaged and contaminated joint edges were mechanically ground back using specialist equipment, creating a clean, sound surface before the joints were repaired and refilled.

As experienced resin flooring contractors, we know that the foundation of every installation is professional floor preparation. Effective substrate preparation is essential for achieving a durable finish, particularly where existing expansion joints have deteriorated. Once the joints had been ground out, they were thoroughly cleaned ready for the appropriate repair material.

Our specialist floor preparation equipment includes industrial diamond grinders and dust extraction systems, allowing us to remove weak material and contaminants while keeping the work area clean. The repaired joints were left ready for subsequent resin flooring work, where required. More information about the wider installation process can be found in our guide to what’s involved in laying epoxy flooring.
