We recently completed a 450㎡ epoxy resin coating at a car body repair centre and spray booth in Northampton. The project started with thorough mechanical floor preparation, including a full grind to remove surface contaminants and provide the concrete with a suitable profile for the new resin system. Careful preparation is essential for achieving a strong bond and a durable finish, particularly in a busy automotive environment. The existing concrete floor preparation was followed by an epoxy resin primer, creating a solid base for the subsequent coatings.

Once the primer had been applied, we installed two coats of high-build epoxy resin to create a hard-wearing and easy-to-clean car workshop floor. We also refilled the existing expansion joints using a suitable flexible epoxy jointing compound, helping to leave the completed floor neat and ready for continued use. The 450㎡ installation was completed in approximately 1–2 days, with each stage carried out carefully to produce a consistent and durable resin floor coating.
