We recently installed LFS epoxy flake flooring at a double garage in Milton Keynes. The finished floor provides a clean, decorative and hard-wearing surface, combining the practical benefits of a high-build epoxy system with the attractive appearance of a decorative flake finish.

The installation began with thorough preparation of the existing concrete floor. The surface was mechanically prepared to remove loose material and contaminants and create a suitable mechanical key for the resin system. Once the preparation was complete, several coats of epoxy resin were applied to build up a durable floor coating. The decorative flakes were then incorporated into the system before the floor was finished with a protective sealer coat. The complete installation was carried out over approximately 1–2 days, allowing for preparation and curing times between coats.

This type of residential garage flooring is ideal for homeowners looking to turn a basic concrete garage into a cleaner and more attractive space. Good preparation is essential to achieving a long-lasting result, and our guide to garage floor preparation explains more about the work that may be required before a resin system can be installed.

A decorative finish for a home garage

Epoxy flake is a popular choice for a garage because it combines a practical floor resin system with a decorative finish. The seamless surface is easy to clean and can complement garage shelving, storage and wider garage design ideas, helping to create a smart and usable garage space.

Every garage is different, so the existing concrete, access, floor condition and intended use all need to be considered when specifying the system.
