Engineering flooring – Wellingborough – 600㎡
600㎡ epoxy resin flooring for an engineering company on Denington Industrial Estate, Wellingborough
We recently completed a 600㎡ epoxy resin flooring project for an engineering company in Wellingborough. The existing concrete floor required extensive preparation before the new system could be installed, including the removal of existing tiles and latex. Once the old materials had been removed, the entire area was mechanically ground to provide a clean, sound and properly keyed substrate. This thorough floor preparation is a crucial part of our process, particularly in busy engineering and industrial environments where the finished surface needs to withstand regular traffic and heavy use.
Following preparation, we applied two coats of epoxy DPM primer, incorporating quartz and carrying out localised floor repairs to fill low spots and improve the overall condition of the substrate. The floor was then finished with a 3mm mid-grey epoxy self-levelling system, creating a seamless and durable surface suitable for the demands of an engineering workplace. As an experienced resin flooring contractor, we regularly install resin systems in factories, warehouses, workshops and other industrial environments where a hard-wearing and easy-to-clean finish is required.
Professional preparation – the foundation of every installation
Concrete floors are rarely ready to coat straight away. Laitance, contamination, old adhesives, tiles, latex, previous coatings and weak surface material can all affect adhesion, so effective substrate preparation is fundamental to achieving a successful installation. For this project, the existing materials were removed before the concrete was fully ground, cleaned and assessed. Our epoxy flooring installation process starts with understanding the existing floor and preparing it correctly before any resin is applied.
We have invested heavily in specialist flooring machinery and equipment to ensure our installations meet commercial standards. This includes 3-phase industrial diamond grinders, heavy-duty generators, professional sanding equipment, specialist diamond attachments, industrial dust extraction systems and full PPE. Using the right equipment allows us to prepare large areas efficiently while minimising dust and creating the surface profile required for the new coating system.
Industrial epoxy flooring for engineering environments
Engineering companies need practical industrial flooring that can cope with demanding working conditions. A properly installed epoxy system provides a seamless surface that is straightforward to clean and maintain, making it suitable for engineering workshops, factories, warehouses and other commercial premises. We also undertake workshop flooring and factory flooring projects where existing concrete requires preparation before a new resin system can be installed.
As a warehouse flooring contractor, we also work on larger industrial spaces where careful preparation and efficient installation are essential. Our warehouse flooring service covers preparation and resin systems for commercial and industrial buildings, with the specification selected according to the condition and intended use of the floor.
