Rubber crumb playground – Bedford

We breathed new life into this playground

We were called in to give this tired playground in Clapham, Bedfordshire, a complete new lease of life. The existing surface had become worn and uneven, creating a potential trip hazard, so we replaced it with a new rubber crumb play surface designed with safety and impact absorption in mind. Also known as wet pour rubber, this resilient surfacing provides a comfortable and durable finish for children’s play areas, with a large range of colours available to create an attractive and engaging space.

Our experienced rubber crumb installers first prepared the existing area, ensuring the base was clean, sound and suitable for the new surface. The rubber crumb was then installed in layers using a specialist binder before being carefully trowelled to create a smooth, seamless finish. The rubber crumb installation was completed in approximately 1–2 days, leaving the playground with a hard-wearing surface that offers excellent impact absorption and helps provide a safer environment for children.
