The existing slab did not meet these requirements, so Liberty Floor Solutions were called to rectify the situation.
We carried out localised crack repairs, then used Epoxy dpm with a quartz scatter ( which created a key for the levelling compound to bond to ), then Self levelling C40 to achieve the level surface required.
SR classification
The SR classification is part of British Standards and is a measurement of a surface’s levelness, or surface regularity.
There are three main standards for surface regularity and they are SR1, SR2, and SR3. SR1 being the highest standard.
To measure a surface’s SR1 level, a 2m straightedge is placed on the surface and a slip gauge is used to measure any gaps underneath. For a surface to be SR1, the maximum gap can be no more than 3mm. If a surface doesn’t meet the SR tolerance, remedial measures may include: Localised grinding, application of smoothing compounds or removing / replacing the affected areas.
